Optional Dine-Arounds

On Wednesday and Friday evenings participants are on their own for dinner. We are pleased to recommend a number of restaurants, where we have placed a hold on tables.

Each of these venues will allow a reservation of approximately 10 people at one table for a la carte dining from their regular menu, but you should check the individual restaurant listings for size restrictions. Reservations vary depending on the restaurant.

Restaurant Location

The Four Seasons has three wonderful restaurants and they are all on our “list”. There are also a number of great restaurants in the town of Punta Mita, which we recommend. Punta Mita is approximately 10 minutes, by car, from the Four Seasons Resort. We will arrange shuttles to take people to the restaurants in town.

How to Reserve

Registration for Dine Arounds will begin approximately 60 days prior to departure, but you can always send us an email now to make a reservation for 10 people early.

If you are reserving for a group, please make sure that you have confirmed who is joining your party and indicate all the names on your reservation. This will help us avoid the awkward situation where someone is double booked on more than one dinner reservation.

If you are reserving as a single, a couple or a group smaller than the maximum permitted for a reservation time then we reserve the right to match you with others that are requesting a dinner reservation at the same restaurant at the same time.

A Special Reservation – over 10 people

If you wish to reserve a group larger than 10 at any restaurant then please email us directly at advocatestrips@travelimpresarios.com and indicate the restaurant, group size and time you wish to reserve. We will contact the restaurant to request a special reservation. Please note that with large groups the restaurant will require you to preselect a fixed menu. Please also note that there is no guarantee that the restaurant will accommodate a larger group.

How do I get there?

Restaurants in the Four Seasons are all a short walk from your room.

For restaurants in Punta Mita we will arrange transportation from the lobby to the restaurant you reserved with us. Please be in the lobby 10 minutes prior to your reservation to ensure you are on your designated shuttle. You are always welcome to arrange your own transportation to your dinner if you prefer.

Friday Night – Large Group Dinner

There is a great large-group dining option at Hector’s Kitchen on Friday night only. We are creating a fixed menu option for a large communal meal for 30 people. We will be designing a sampling menu of some of their best dishes. Those that choose this option are really choosing it because they want to be part of a fun collective meal where you surrender your menu choices to us.

Our Restaurant Recommendations in Punta Mita

Mina (Traditional Mexican )

Type of Cuisine: Traditional Mexican – with emphasis on seafood
Website: https://www.demitarg.com/si-senor-punta-mita-english
About:
Mina is a fantastic Mexican food restaurant right on the beach with great views of the sunset. The menu has a mix of Mexican specialities with a strong focus on seafood. They have delicious tamales and tacos. The mole poblano is to die for. The calamari with fresh cilantro and fresh fish are fantastic, but our favourite was the Zarandeado Blue Shrimp!

We gave it an 8.5 out of 10.

La Pescadora (Seafood)

Type of Cuisine: Seafood
Website: https://www.demitarg.com/la-pescadora-punta-mita
About:
La Pescadora is just down the beach from Mina – and also has great sunsets. It is a wonderful seafood restaurant. Start off with the Pulpo Maple (a maple glazed octopus) or the Cazuela de Camaron (an interesting shrimp dip with creamy chipotle and melted cheese). The focus here is fish, and the mains on the menu show it. The best choice for fish lovers is to choose from the fresh catch of the day options. Given that the fishing boats dock about 100 metres from the restaurant, you won’t find fresher! The fish is cooked to your specifications. We also loved the grilled Blue Shrimp here.

We gave the restaurant a 9 out of 10.

Hector’s Kitchen (Mexican/Eclectic)

Type of Cuisine: Mexican and Eclectic
Website: https://www.hectorskitchen.com.mx/
About:
Hector was the top chef at the Four Seasons’ resort and then ventured out on his own. Hector’s Kitchen is his first restaurant. It is located just off the beach in Punta Mita so it doesn’t have the scenic views of the ocean. The décor is simple and not exciting but the food is worth it! It was our favourite of all the restaurants.

We gave it a whopping 9.9 out of 10!!

The food was exceptional and the cocktails excellent. The truffled sweet potato tortellini was out of this world. The corn truffle & zucchini tlacoyo is hard to describe but delicious. The mains of braised short rib, confit duck tamali, grilled shrimp and vegan Thai Green Curry provide a diverse offering. We found it impossible to choose a favourite among them, as they were all so tasty. And then there’s dessert!

Zicatela (Mexican)

Type of Cuisine: Mexican with Hector’s twist
Website: https://www.hectorskitchen.com.mx/
About:
We did not get a chance to eat there on our site visit but everyone raved about this restaurant. Given our experience at Hector’s original restaurant we don’t hesitate to recommend this one too. The menu is a little less eclectic and gourmet than Hector’s Kitchen but looks intriguing. On the starters the shrimp green Aguachile and the Catch of the Day tiradito drew our attention. The mains range from a range of tacos, to Oaxacan specialities (what we would order!) to steaks and fresh seafood on the grill.

Punta Mercedes (Pasta, Pizzas)

Type of Cuisine: Pasta, Pizzas and Wood-fired Grill
Website: https://puntamercedes.mx/index_english.html
About:
Punta Mercedes is located right on the beach at Punta Mita with great sunsets. They cook most of their dishes in a wood fired oven. The beef rock starter was fun and delicious, with slices of beef hand cooked by you on a sizzling stone at the table. The Octopus cevichito was good. The pastas and pizzas are less exotic than other regional food options but are very tasty. The mains done in the wood fire grill ranged from steaks to local food; with the specialty being the catch of the day; as it should be!

We ranked Punta Mercedes at 8.7 out of 10.

Dos Catrinas (Mexican/Eclectic)

Type of Cuisine: Mexican and Eclectic
Website: https://www.fourseasons.com/puntamita/dining/restaurants/dos-catrinas/
About:
Dos Catrinas is the Four Seasons Resort Mexican restaurant. It is also the site for breakfast and dinner. They have a really fun salsa tasting section of the menu where you can experience new “twists” on salsa. The Mexican Street food options are plays on traditional street food but done with the safety of the FS kitchen! The menu is quite diverse with gourmet taco options and mole and enchilada options in interesting meat and fish dishes. You can linger over a great meal, then have a drink upstairs at Mez… and then walk only a few metres to your room.

Bahía by Richard Sandoval (Mexican/Eclectic)

Type of Cuisine:Mexican and Eclectic
Website:
https://www.fourseasons.com/puntamita/dining/restaurants/bahia_by_richard_sandoval/
About:
The Four Seasons recently completed the renovation of this quintessential beachside restaurant. It is inches away from the beach and the most popular with guests. It was still under renovation when we visited so we can’t offer firsthand reviews. The menu has something for everyone; from gourmet pastas to its signature Zaradeado fish dish and top calibre steaks to the fresh catch of the day on the grill.

Aramara (Asian)

Type of Cuisine: Asian
Website: https://www.fourseasons.com/puntamita/dining/restaurants/aramara/
About:
Aramara is the Four Seasons Resort’s Asian restaurant. Why have Asian food in Mexico you may ask? Because Aramara has some of the best Asian food your site check team has ever had - and that is saying a lot. Aramara was our second favourite restaurant, just behind Hector’s kitchen with a 9 out of 10 ranking. The head chef is from Asia and has made it his mission to provide extraordinary Asian food to the region. We met him and were truly impressed with his food and his passion. His extensive study of Asian techniques in Hong Kong, Thailand and other countries, supported by local training with Asian chefs results in a stunning marriage of authentic craftsmanship and the freshest local ingredients.
