Arlene Ferguson is a "force of nature". She knows everything and everyone worth knowing in Nassau. Her family were the ones who saved the Bahamian "Junkanoo" culture and founded the Junkanooseum. We met her on our site visit and fell in love with her. If you only do one thing outside the resort: spend the afternoon with Arlene!

While walking with her you will learn about historic Nassau, and the current gossip. You will see Christ Church Cathedral, one of the centre pieces of Nassau, which is full of local Bahamian history even with being twice destroyed by Spaniards, Government House – the centre of Bahamian political life, the infamous Graycliff restaurant, the National Art Gallery, and "of course" you will learn about Junkanoo!!! Junkanoo, the national cultural festival of the Bahamas, dates back over two hundred years to the era of Slavery, and is celebrated each year in two spectacular parades at Christmas. You will see the drama, colour and excitement of this riveting cultural experience in your visit to the Educulture Junkanooseum.

... oh, and don't forget the food. We will stop at the cultural heart of Nassau at the Arawak Cay Fish Fry, overlooking the scenic Nassau Harbour. This is where the locals eat. You will be able to order food at the infamous: "Frankies gone Bananas!" with Arlene's personal advice on the best things to choose.
